Rowland Property Tax Rate…….79¢ per $100 valuation for 2015-2016 (7.6 mils)

Robeson County Tax Rate……..77¢ per $100 valuation for 2015-2016 (7.7 mils)

 

ALL UTILITY RATES LISTED HERE ARE FOR TOWN RESIDENTS; OUT-OF-TOWN RATES ARE DOUBLE IN-TOWN RATES FOR WATER AND SEWER, AND FOR RESIDENTIAL GARBAGE COLLECTION.  DEBT SERVICE FEE RATES ARE THE SAME FOR ALL CUSTOMERS.

Utility Deposits  —  No utility deposits are required for home-owners; renters and mobile home owners who do not own the land their homes sit on must pay a $150.00 deposit, which is refundable after the deduction of the final balance when closing the account.

Water and sewer rates are the same for residential and commercial customers.

Water Rates……….$19.00 for the 1st 2000 gallons, plus $2.31 per additional 1000 or portion thereof

Sewer Rates……… $22.00 for the 1st 2000 gallons, plus $2.31 per additional 1000 or portion thereof  

Utility Debt Service Charges are assessed as follows (Please note that these charges are NOT cumulative):  

2,000 gallons or less: $8.00

2,001-5,000 gallons: $10.89

5,001-10,000 gallons: $13.20

10,001-25,000 gallons: $15.81

25,001 gallons or more: $20.13

Late payment penalty: $10.00

Reconnection fees: Regular Hours – $35.00; after 4:00 pm & on weekend – $50.00

Meter tampering charge: $100.00 per offense

Tap Fees:  Contact Town Hall for Water and Sewer tap fee rates.

Residential Garbage Rates: In-town – $23.50 per cart per month for once-weekly collection 

  Commercial Garbage Rates:

            Carts: $28.49 per cart per month for once-weekly collection

            Dumpsters: Charges depend on dumpster size and frequency of collection; enquire at Town Hall for more information

 

Utility Billing Policy

Utility bills are put in the mail so as to be delivered on the 1st working day of the month; bills are due the 20th of the month in which billed; late charges are assessed on the first working day after the 20th of that month. 

ANY UTILITY BILL WHICH HAS A BALANCE FROM THE PREVIOUS BILL AS WELL AS THE CURRENT BILL MUST BE PAID IN FULL BY 5:00P.M. ON THE 10th OR SERVICE WILL BE DISCONTINUED

A $35.00 fee will be charged for reconnection of utility service when payment is made after the due date. Please note that after the disconnect list has been given to Public Works, the $35.00 fee will be charged WHETHER OR NOT service has actually been disconnected.

Garbage Collection Policy

Residential garbage is collected by Waste Management every Friday except Christmas Day when that holiday falls on a Friday; please have your garbage can at the curb by Thursday evening.

Collection of grass clippings, brush and leaves, or any other yard waste is made either Thursday or Friday, depending on volume; please have yard waste at the curb by Wednesday evening. 

Brush and limbs must be separated from leaves and grass clippings. Brush and limbs must be no longer than four feet in length and six inches in diameter.

THERE MUST BE NO GARBAGE OR TRASH MIXED WITH ANY YARD WASTE!!

White goods (appliances) and brown goods (discarded home furnishings) are collected the first Wednesday of each month. 

We DO NOT collect used tires! 

Home demolition or tree removal performed by commercial contractors will not be collected by the town. It is the contractor’s responsibility to remove construction debris and trees!
